National Bridge Building Competition
The Bridge Building Competition is one of the most important scientific competitions that contributes to enhancing the study and application of physics and engineering principles. It also helps students develop many skills such as planning, design, creative thinking, teamwork, decision-making, and time management.
The competition is dedicated exclusively to Kuwaiti high school students (from Grade 9 to Grade 12) in all schools across Kuwait.
Through participation, students gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be engineers by designing structures according to specific specifications and testing their effectiveness. Participants will design and build bridges using a set of wooden sticks.
These bridges will be evaluated based on their ability to bear weight, bending resistance, structural efficiency, and aesthetic design.
The competition will be held at the Gifted Academy – for Boys.” ( Location HERE)

General Judging Criteria
The judging panel will consist of professionals and academics in the fields of architecture, civil engineering, and related disciplines.
• Strength-to-weight ratio: How much weight the bridge can support compared to its own weight.
• Structural efficiency: Use of materials, stability, and load distribution.
• Aesthetics and design: Creativity, innovation, and visual appeal.
Please add list items.
Competition Awards
1. Strength Award:
Granted to the top three bridges that support the greatest load relative to their own weight.
2.Design Award:
Granted to the most innovative and visually appealing bridge
3.Best Poster Award:
Granted to the team with the best project poster.
Note:
All materials required for building the bridges will be provided on the participants’ tables, and no team will be allowed to bring any additional materials. Any team that uses external materials will be disqualified.
